Who they are
Born in Maghar in 1970, Sarhan enlisted in 1989 and served about thirty years, retiring as a colonel in 2017. He commanded the Herev battalion, the IDF's Druze battalion, in the Second Lebanon War, going in among the first commanders and coming out among the last, and later commanded the Alon reserve brigade. His final posting, from 2014, was head of the Population Administration in the Manpower Directorate, responsible for the army's non-Jewish sectors. He is a licensed insurance agent, holds a master's in public administration and national security, and was deputy mayor of Maghar until March 2026.
Positions and record
Land and permits: Says he and his brothers have been waiting since 2003 to build on their own private land, and will make a planning solution a condition of any alliance.
Coalitions: Says 85 percent of the community is centre-right, that he does not want to be in the Bibi argument, and that he will sit with all the Zionist parties.
The north: Says residents of the north will not tolerate another round and another round, and will demand a decision.
