Who they are
Michel was born on 26 December 1978 and attended Katznelson school in Kfar Saba. She served as a navy operations officer in Squadron 914, then studied design and film at Ascola from 2000 to 2002. She edited content at Saloona, co-founded the Self-Employed Histadrut in 2016 and managed Microsoft’s education community from 2020 to 2023. She joined the Democrats in 2025.
Positions and record
Democracy: Limit prime ministers to two terms or eight years, protect police operational independence and place equality in a Basic Law.
Education: Establish an autonomous secular state-school stream, require full core subjects wherever schools receive state funding, and provide free education from birth.
Women’s representation: Require 50% women on party lists, penalise inadequate representation through party funding and favour companies with women in at least 30% of senior management in public procurement.
Self-employed workers: Provide unemployment insurance, state contributions to sick pay from the fourth day and grants covering business costs during maternity leave.
Transport: Provide public transport seven days a week linking outlying communities to employment and leisure centres.
