Who they are
Born in 1970 to parents who were among the founders of the renewed Jewish community in Hebron, Libman grew up in Kiryat Arba and in Beit Hadassah. He enlisted in 1988 through the hesder track, served as a fighter and commander in Golani's reconnaissance unit, and was the security coordinator of the Jewish community in Hebron from 1992 to 2018, receiving a chief of staff's commendation for his conduct under fire in 2002. He headed the Kiryat Arba council from 2018 to 2024. His son Elyakim, a security guard at the Nova festival who went back to help evacuate the wounded, was listed as a hostage in Gaza for more than seven months before it emerged in May 2024 that he had been killed on 7 October and buried by mistake in another victim's grave.
