Who they are

Davidi Ben Zion is the deputy head of the Samaria Regional Council, where he holds the education portfolio and has also stood in as acting head.

He grew up in Kiryat Arba and studied at the yeshiva in Elon Moreh before enlisting in the 101st Battalion of the paratroopers, where he served as a fighter and then as an officer. He holds degrees in education and in government and public policy. He joined the staff of the Samaria Regional Council and rose to be its deputy head, and he founded Shifra, which runs sheltered homes for girls at risk and which he named after his late mother. He has stood for the Knesset twice, once on the Union of Right-Wing Parties list and once on a Bayit Yehudi slate that withdrew before polling day. In 2026 he founded the Emunim movement and joined Ofer Winter’s Amcha Israel.

Positions and record

Sovereignty: Names sovereignty as one of five founding principles of the Emunim movement he launched in June 2026, alongside military service, security, law and a state rabbinate.

Haredi enlistment: "We respect you, students of Torah, but we need you under the stretcher too." Says anyone drafting exemptions or vague wording into the conscription law "chooses disgrace", and that economic benefits are leverage enough.

The Huwara post: In February 2023, hours after the Yaniv brothers were killed there, he posted that the village of Huwara "should be erased today". He deleted it that evening and retracted the next morning: "I did not call for violence and will not call for violence. Only the IDF should eradicate terror." A criminal complaint was filed and the Deputy State Prosecutor decided not to open an investigation.
