Who they are
Yoseph Haddad is an Arab Christian Israeli campaigner who founded Together, Vouching for Each Other, which works to connect Arab citizens to Israeli society. He was born in Haifa in 1985 to a schoolteacher mother and a father who was a priest, businessman and civil pilot. The family moved to Nazareth when he was three, and he was schooled at the Don Bosco technological school there. He volunteered for the army after the bombing of the Maxim restaurant, and served as a platoon sergeant in Battalion 51 of Golani. His battalion fought at Bint Jbeil in the Second Lebanon War, and in a separate incident in July 2006 he was severely wounded by a missile; after about a year of rehabilitation he was recognised as a disabled veteran.
Haddad began advocacy work that same year through the disabled veterans’ organisation, and has since campaigned abroad against the BDS boycott movement and against antisemitism at universities. He started a politics degree at Bar-Ilan University but left it for advocacy work. He broadcast in Arabic and English on i24NEWS for three years and writes columns for Israel Hayom and TheMarker.
He fired his pistol during an argument with a scooter rider in Jaffa on 30 July 2025 and was charged with recklessness and negligence with a weapon. He says the shot was discharged unintentionally.
Positions and record
Arab representation: "I have come to replace the Arab parties," saying Arab citizens need representatives who work for them "and not for Gaza, Jenin and Ramallah".
Conscription: Backs an effective new draft law covering "all parts of the population", addressing those currently exempt directly. Frames Arab citizens' part as volunteering for the army or national service, not conscription.
Gaza: His published plan is military rule with an Arab-state partner, freedom of action for the army, and reform of Gaza's schools. He has not spoken on the emigration policy his party leader campaigns on.
Legal record: Indicted in 2025 for reckless handling of a weapon after firing his pistol during an altercation in Jaffa. His lawyer says he was attacked and recognised; the other man says Haddad started it. No outcome has been reported.
