Who they are

Badir was born in 1979 and grew up in Kafr Qasim. He worked as a parliamentary aide to Issawi Freij in 2015 and Zehava Galon in 2016, then completed a degree at Sha’arei Mishpat. He served as Kafr Qasim’s deputy mayor and earned a master’s in public policy at Tel Aviv University in 2020. He became the municipality’s procurement manager in 2021.

Positions and record

Planning: Give local councils and residents a statutory veto over polluting energy and industrial projects near homes.

Environment: Introduce a national programme to upgrade waste management in Arab communities and install solar generation on public-building and school roofs.

Religion & state: Allow civil marriage and divorce alongside existing religious routes.

Transport: Support Saturday public transport where residents want it, with local authorities deciding Saturday commerce.

Education: Invest in liberal civics, science, culture and shared-society curricula. Consider a separate secular state-school stream if there is substantial demand, preserving equal funding and access.
