Who they are
Yonah Shlomo Kaufman is a Beit Shemesh councillor for Derech who works in real estate and finance. He markets flats in early-stage developments and advises on valuations, mortgages and property tax.
He was a private banker at TBC Bank for five years, working on deals that included a 2,500-unit residential complex in Houston and a portfolio of twenty-four industrial and warehouse properties in twelve states. He then ran business development at Build to Suits, developing drive-through commercial sites across the United States, before turning to Israeli urban renewal as chief operating officer of Tama Jameson, which sourced TAMA 38 projects, and heading corporate structure at Invest Squared.
He joined the city council in 2024 with responsibility for health, aliyah and absorption. Outside it he sits on the boards of the Kupah Shel Tzedaka of Ramat Beit Shemesh and the Maaneh Center for the prevention of child abuse, guides for the Geerz therapeutic mountain-biking club and chairs his street’s maintenance committee.
