Who they are
Noy was born in Tehran in 1970 and moved to Israel in 1979. She presented and produced daily news on Kol HaShalom radio before joining Local Call at its launch in 2014. She translates Persian prose and poetry into Hebrew. She chaired B’Tselem’s board from 2022 to 2026.
Positions and record
Partnership: In March 2016, supported a Mizrahi–Palestinian political partnership to challenge discriminatory university admissions, excessive imprisonment and cultural erasure.
Death penalty: In April 2026, opposed executions of Palestinians and warned of the psychological harm to those ordered to carry them out.
Mizrahi culture: In January 2016, called for public support for Mizrahi culture, including Moroccan theatre, to help preserve it.
Religion and state: In August 2023, supported separating religion from the state as a necessary step towards secular democracy.
Iran: In March 2026, opposed Israeli–American airstrikes on Iran and supported diplomatic and economic tools to assist Iranians seeking political freedom.
