Who they are
Born in 1976 in Daliyat al-Karmel, Natour is the son of Salman Natour, one of the best known Palestinian writers in Israel, who edited the culture supplement of the communist paper al-Ittihad. He studied cinema and directing straight out of school and runs a production company whose work is largely made for and about Arab society. He grew up in a communist household and refused compulsory military service, which Druze men in Israel are subject to. He is a first-time candidate and has published no policy record, so what follows is his biography rather than a platform.

Druze conscription: He refused compulsory military service himself, in line with Hadash's long-standing opposition to conscripting Druze citizens.
Culture: His career is built on producing film and television for Arab society, and the party presents him as a left activist in the Arab-Druze community.
