Who they are
Bloch was born on 13 October 1967 to parents from Tafilalt in Morocco and grew up in Kiryat Gat. She took a mathematics degree and a doctorate at Bar-Ilan University, taught at Givat Gonen, and opened Branco Weiss's upper school in Beit Shemesh in 1998, running its school network from 2014. She was mayor of Beit Shemesh from 2018 to 2024, then led the Israeli Center for Educational Excellence until June 2026.
Positions and record
Teachers: Supports higher entry standards and salaries for teachers, with individual contracts to reward good teaching.
School autonomy: Calls for greater freedom for school heads and teachers to decide how they teach and develop new approaches.
