Who they are
Elimelech is 53 and runs the schools Rabbi Yoram Abergel's movement built in Netivot. They left the Shas network for the state-haredi stream in 2024, taking some 1,150 pupils into the core curriculum, and he says the movement was threatened and boycotted for it. He has been chairman and head of the list since the party was announced in June 2026. His position on enlistment, that a young man who is not really learning full time should serve, sits outside the line every other haredi party holds. He pairs it with a refusal to go after Shas directly, saying he is not trying to take a bite out of it, only to house the tens of thousands already drifting between parties. He has never held elected office, and his birthplace and education are not on the public record.
Positions and record
Haredi enlistment: A young man sitting and learning should sit and learn. One who is not should enlist, in a place that suits him.
Core studies: He says core subjects can and should be taught, and his schools moved into the state stream to get them.
Shas: He says he is not trying to take a bite out of Shas, and that his party will be what Shas was in Rabbi Ovadia's day.
