Who they are

Hazzan studied political science at the University of Haifa and has worked as an interpreter and director of Al-Ittihad. She joined Haifa’s youth committee in 2019 and became the Communist Party’s Haifa district secretary in 2022. Police questioned her over a film screening in August 2024 and released her with conditions; the case’s final outcome is unverified.

Positions and record

Palestinian statehood: Supports two states and a territorially united Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.

Gaza’s political future: Says Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority must participate in deciding Gaza’s future, and supports Palestinian elections rather than an externally imposed administration.

Equal citizenship: Opposes the Nation-State Law and calls for equal rights and dignity for Arab and Jewish citizens, including equality in employment, education and infrastructure.

Municipal services: Supports cooperation among Haifa’s Arab and Jewish democratic councillors to improve planning, education and cultural services for Arab residents.
