Who they are
Peled was born in Beit HaShita on 2 April 1945 and still lives there. He fought in the 1967 battle for Jerusalem and crossed the Suez Canal in 1973, then moved to the Armoured Corps, commanding Battalion 77 and later the 847th Brigade as a colonel. He sat in the Knesset from 1992 to 1999 and was deputy education minister. He has served more than 630 reserve days since October 2023 as a tank-transporter driver.
