Running for a seat in the Knesset
Who they are
Green is an attorney and a long-time resident of Moshav Batzra in the Sharon, and has led Tzomet since Rafael Eitan left politics in the early 2000s. He built his public profile over three decades of litigation against the Israel Land Authority on behalf of moshav landholders, taking cases as far as the Supreme Court, and he now wants the Authority dissolved. He has a conviction of his own on the same subject: in 2014 a magistrates' court fined him 800,000 shekels over the illegal commercial use of buildings on his own agricultural plot at Batzra, and his appeal was rejected. His age, birthplace and education are not on the public record.
Positions and record
The Land Authority: Says it has no justification for existing and that it drives the cost of housing.
Those who served: Wants 250 square metres in the periphery for every discharged soldier and reservist.
The cost of living: For bringing it down, but not on the backs of Israeli farmers or the country's ability to feed itself.
