Yesh Atid named her its candidate for the portfolio in February 2026, before the merger with Bennett, and she has said it in her own words: I intend to be the next education minister of the State of Israel. Bennett has not restated it since the alliance was signed, and her slot on the joint list is not set.
Who they are
Born in Jerusalem in 1983 to parents from Morocco and raised in Mevaseret Zion, Cohen served at Army Radio and read economics at the Hebrew University. She ran the consumer watchdog Public Trust, where she built a campaign to recover money taken from elderly Israelis by telemarketing fraud. She sat on Jerusalem's city council from 2011, entered the Knesset in 2019 and was social equality minister in two governments.
