Who they are
Ghazawi is a lawyer from Qalansawe. He worked for the Communist Youth and served as Hadash’s local branch secretary. He founded the town’s popular committee in 2007 and chaired its central parents’ committee by 2013. He sat on the municipal council by 2024.
Positions and record
Municipal governance: In December 2023, called for municipal elections to move beyond family lists and patronage.
Housing: In December 2023, urged Qalansawe municipality to prioritise housing, prepare a master plan and address demolition orders through the planning committee.
Transparency: In June 2024, supported public access to information on environmental programmes and budgets for Arab towns, describing transparency as necessary for equality and democratic oversight.
