Who they are

Bavli is a lawyer and advised the national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, on legislation. Police questioned him under caution in November 2024, one of four bureau staff, on suspicion of fraud and breach of trust over about 1,146 firearms licences issued outside the criteria. He was released under restrictive conditions, says everything was done lawfully, and was still a suspect in February 2026.
