Who they are
Danino attended the Nautical Officers’ School in Acre and left regular military service as a captain in 2012. He then built a food chain which later failed. He became a business consultant and served as a Nahal Brigade reserve officer during the war beginning in 2023. His book Nefilot Shel Hatzlaha describes his bankruptcy.
Positions and record
Cost of living: Calls for lower tariffs on essentials, less regulation of small businesses and lower energy costs and commercial municipal taxes. His February 2026 column argues for more competition.
Tax: Calls for lower VAT on baby food, nappies, bread, milk and eggs. His December 2025 column does not specify a zero rate.
Gas exports: Calls for Israel to retain the ability to adjust gas export volumes and prices under its deal with Egypt, giving domestic needs priority. His December 2025 column also calls for transparency and public oversight.
Online imports: Opposed raising the VAT exemption on overseas online purchases from $75 to $150 in February 2026, arguing that it favoured foreign platforms over local businesses.
