Who they are
Born in Boston in 1959, Marzel moved to Israel at six weeks old and grew up in Jerusalem, joining Rabbi Meir Kahane's Jewish Defense League at thirteen. He served in the IDF's Armoured Corps in the 1982 Lebanon War, then spent about a decade as Kahane's spokesman and closest aide until the rabbi's assassination in 1990. He has lived in Hebron's Tel Rumeida enclave with his wife Sarah and their nine children for decades, and has run for the Knesset repeatedly without ever winning a seat: on his own Jewish National Front from 2004, on Ben-Ari's Otzma LeYisrael list in 2013, and on the Yachad-Otzma Yehudit bloc in 2015, when the Central Elections Committee disqualified him before the Supreme Court reinstated him. He left Otzma Yehudit, which he had helped build, in 2022, and began working with Ben-Ari on a new party, arguing Otzma Yehudit under Ben Gvir had moderated too far since entering government.
Positions and record
Kahanism: Describes himself as a lifelong disciple of Rabbi Meir Kahane, whom he served as spokesman for about a decade.
Arab citizens: Endorses what he calls transfer: told the Times of Israel that Israel's Arab citizens should be checked "one by one" for disloyalty and encouraged to leave, without violence.
Ben Gvir: Says Otzma Yehudit softened once it reached government, which is why he and Ben-Ari built a separate party.
Hebron: Has lived in the Tel Rumeida enclave inside Hebron for decades and treats a Jewish presence there as non-negotiable.
