Who they are
Gino grew up in Jerusalem and joined Givati in 1997, serving about 27 years in the brigade. He commanded its reconnaissance battalion in the 2014 Gaza war, when Hadar Goldin was captured in Rafah on 1 August 2014, and later became the brigade's deputy commander. He returned after 7 October 2023 as Givati's chief of staff in the reserves, logging over 1,000 reserve days. He holds the rank of colonel in the reserves.
Positions and record
Gaza and the fallen: Frames Gaza through the recovery of soldiers' bodies, arguing Israel should not have let Gaza prosper for a decade while two soldiers were held there: "not even for a scrap of a soldier should life be allowed there."
The army after 7 October: Called Winter's forced discharge a disgrace and said the system moved aside a man who thought differently. Says values must come before strategic calculation or "we will get a different army".
