His July 2025 resignation letter said his mission for the health system is not finished and called the departure another chapter, which Israel Hayom read as a hint he wants the ministry back. He has named no portfolio for the next government.

Who they are

Born in Ramla in 1973, he served as an IDF officer and holds a law degree from Ono Academic College. He ran a high school and boarding school from 1996 to 2006, then led Shas on Petah Tikva council and was a deputy mayor of the city until 2020. He entered the Knesset that year, chaired the Health Committee, and was health minister from 2023 to 2025.
