Running for health minister or chair of the Knesset Health Committee
In her questionnaire on 28 June 2026, Sivan-Hoffman explicitly names health minister or Health Committee chair as personal targets. She also expresses interest in working on the Interior and Environmental Protection Committee. These personal statements follow her earlier discussion of the party seeking influence over health policy.
Who they are
Sivan-Hoffman grew up in Kfar Bialik and studied medicine at Ben-Gurion University. She trained in radiology at Galilee Medical Center and in brain catheterisation in Lyon. She joined Rambam in 2016, co-founded CVAid Medical in 2018 and became Meir Medical Center’s imaging director in September 2020. She co-founded the mothers’ movement Ima Era after 7 October 2023.
Positions and record
Military service: Reject separate secular and Haredi army units, protect freedom from religious coercion, and allow secular soldiers their own food and Shabbat social life.
Public health: Fund more medical posts and expand hospital departments, particularly in the periphery, so qualified doctors can enter the public system.
Women’s health: Replace abortion-approval committees with an approach that preserves women’s decision-making and offers professional, respectful medical support.
Transport: Provide state-subsidised Shabbat transport according to residents’ needs, especially access to hospitals and leisure, instead of leaving provision to each municipality.
Environment: Stop the proposed Jezreel Valley airport and restore the tax on disposable tableware.
