Her rehabilitation plan calls for a cabinet minister responsible for post-trauma care, but she has not claimed the job for herself. Heading the party's rehabilitation team is a party role, not a stated government aim.

Who they are

Yehezkeli is an attorney who spent over a decade in senior government posts, heading the professional staff of three welfare ministers and advising the finance minister on social affairs. She began at the disability rights group Bizchut and led the legal department of the Association of Rape Crisis Centres. She has since run Yedid, the Jerusalem Rape Crisis Centre and the Democratic Institute for Education and Society.

Positions and record

Post-trauma: Says the state treats trauma as the private problem of whoever got hurt, and can send call-up orders in minutes while leaving the wounded waiting months for care.

One address: Her plan calls for a national rehabilitation authority with northern and southern arms, and a cabinet minister responsible for it.

Prevention: Wants early identification built into the schools, the health system, the army and local government, with patients free to choose their own therapist.

Recognition: Argues Israel's criteria for recognizing terror victims are outdated, including cases of serious psychological harm from watching an attack unfold remotely by phone or video, and that returning to work should not by itself count as proof rehabilitation is complete: 'Terror has changed, and the law must also change.'
