Achi אחי

Led by Yuval Elimelech · not in the polls · running for a Sephardi home for learners and soldiers

The party of the students of Rabbi Yoram Abergel, who built a network of kollels and schools around Netivot and died in 2015. A committee of his students announced the Knesset run at his graveside in June 2026. The name is built from his own. אחי stands for Chacham Yoram Abergel and reads as the Hebrew for my brother. The party pairs it with רעי, my friend, for Rabbi Ovadia Yosef. Rabbi Yuval Elimelech, who runs the movement schools, is the chairman and the head of the list. The movement broke with Shas locally in 2023, took seven of the seventeen seats on the Netivot council the following February, and that July moved two of its schools out of the Shas network into the state-haredi stream, taking some 1,150 pupils into the core curriculum. It is running nationally on that fight. Its line is that a young man genuinely learning full time should be left alone and everyone else should enlist, which sets it against Shas and United Torah Judaism. Its rabbinic authority is the founder's son, Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Abergel, who was arrested in August 2025 on suspicion of sexual offences and released to house arrest. He denies the allegations, and the file has sat with prosecutors since December 2025 with no charges brought.

The list, who comes with them

How this list is picked. The movement's leadership sets the list; there is no primary. It runs under its own registration rather than a slot on another party's slip.

Rank on the slip decides who enters the Knesset. No pollster asks about this list, so there is no seat projection to set that rank against.
